The Society’s 2018 Annual General Meeting will be held at 5.30pm on 27th September at the British Museum. The meeting will be followed by the annual Kirwan Memorial Lecture at 6pm.

Each autumn the Society invites an eminent scholar to deliver the Kirwan Memorial Lecture, inaugurated in 2000 in honour of the first President of the Society, Sir Laurence Kirwan (1907-1999), whose interest and involvement in Sudanese archaeology spanned 60 years.
The 2018 Kirwan Memorial lecture will be delivered by Dr Claude Rilly.
Entry to the lecture and the reception that follows is by ticket only.
