This is the second of the planned three-volume series devoted  to the results of the survey and excavations conducted by the Sudan Antiquities Service between 1960 and 1963 during the UNESCO-sponsored Campaign to Save the Monuments of Nubia. Over 150 sites will be included in these volumes. In the present volume are described a wide range of sites, cemeteries, industrial installations and settlements dating to the Christian period, along with a detailed discussion of all the pottery and other artefacts discovered.
