AGM and Kirwan Memorial Lecture 2020

In response to government advice regarding the current situation, the AGM and Kirwan Memorial Lecture, originally scheduled for 3 September 2020, have been cancelled. An Extraordinary AGM will be conducted virtually by email in September. Further details will follow closer to the date.

The health and welfare of our members, volunteers, speakers, friends and colleagues are of paramount importance. The SARS team looks forward to welcoming everyone back to London UK in the future.

Each autumn the Society invites an eminent scholar to deliver the Kirwan Memorial Lecture, inaugurated in 2000 in honour of the first President of the Society, Sir Laurence Kirwan (1907-1999), whose interest and involvement in Sudanese archaeology spanned 60 years. The lecture is followed by a reception.
