The Society regrets that small grants will not be available in 2017. Should the financial situation improve it is hoped that it will be possible to make further grants in the future.

Badeen Island Project
Director Hyat Ahmed Abdelmalik Mohammed : A photographic survey of archaeological sites and historic buildings on the island

The Archaeological Survey of Nubia in the Batn el-Hajar
Directed by Dr Anthony Mills in the 1960s as part of the UNESCO High Dam campaign : The post-excavation project director, Dr David Edwards, was given a grant to assist with the publication of a small component of the very extensive archive

The Merowe Dam Archaeological Salvage Project
Two grants were made towards the study and publication of the Society’s surveys and excavations
— Archaeozoological material by Oliver Boles
— Lithics from all sites apart from 3-J-26 and 3-O-3 (already studied by Dr P. Osypinski) : this work is being undertaken by Dr Donatella Usai
